Select your vase. Look for a design with quite flat surfaces as this will make stencilling easier. Clean the surface of the vase with soap and water then dry thoroughly.
Now choose a design for your Christmas stencil. We've used a tree, but you could consider angels, holly, Santa...the list is endless. Once you've selected your stencil design it's important to get this enlarged or reduced so that it covers the vase's surface area. When it's the right size, trace the design onto some low tack self-adhesive film and then cut out using scissors. You've now created your stencil.
Stick the stencil to the vase making sure the design is positioned as you wish it to appear. It may help to have a spare pair of hands when you're doing this.
Mask the surrounding area with newspaper and ensure any exposed parts of the vase that you don't want to spray are also covered. Spray the stencil using Valspar Glass Frosting Spray. Let the spray dry before removing the stencil.
Take your old ornaments and clean them using a soft cloth, spray with Valspar Metallic paint following the instructions on the can. For a sparkly finish use Valspar Glitter spray. For a perfect finish introduce a few mini crackers and a little tinsel around the base of the vase!
Note: Always follow usage instructions on the reverse of Valspar Spray Paint cans.
