Select your glass lamp. You may already have an old one hidden in your loft, if not these can be purchased from most second hand, consignment or local deparment stores. Or try your local garage sale or online auction (Please ensure that any second hand electrics are checked out by a qualified electrician before using).
Clean the surface with a damp cloth and allow it to dry before proceeding.
Place newspaper underneath and around the lamp to protect the work surface.
Cut thin strips of masking tape and wrap around lamp, making sure all the edges of the tape are flat and stuck to the surface of the lamp.
Make sure all areas of the lamp are covered other than the area you are spraying. For cost saving you only need about an inch wide strip of masking tape either side of the area you are spraying the rest of the lamp can be protected with newspaper stuck down using masking tape.
Spray the first color, and wait 45 minutes.
Spray the second color, and wait 45 minutes. Each subsequent color mask should slightly overlap the next as desired (some areas can be left clear).
Note: Always follow usage instructions on the reverse of Valspar Spray Paint cans.
